Drug dosages may need to be reduced to prevent drug toxicity. Ways on how to avoid this situation will be accounting for the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes that occur with aging, initiating therapy with low doses and titrating upward gradually (“start low and go slow”) and monitoring for drug-drug interactions and iatrogenic illness(Rosentha &Burchum, 2021).
